The Oculus building in lower Manhattan faces an “identity crisis.” It is a mall, transit station, and 9/11 memorial with no cohesive look to bring the building together. When first working on this project the shape of the building was described by many people by folding their hands together to reflect the wings of the building. I took this as inspiration for the project moving forward.
